“I moved from New Jersey to North Carolina with I was 11. I didn’t have any siblings, but I did have a pony and a bike. The freedom and independence I learned on the backs of both of these steeds gave me the confidence to develop into a professional triathlete.  The same trails I once explored on horseback care the same trails I run today. I’ve always loved the water. In high school, my father built a boathouse in Lake Lanier in Tryon, NC which is where I still swim today. I ran track and cross country in high school and college, which included a stint as an exchange student in Germany. After graduating from USC and before I started coaching I had a good desk job, but I hated not being outside. Fifteen years ago I followed my heart and quit my job working for an engineering company to pursue coaching full time. I’ve never looked back.”

Katie is a two-time qualifier for the Ironman World Championships in Kona and a 25-time Ironman finisher.  Her commitment to her community led to her creating and leading multiple programs for the Greenville Triathlon Club.
